3 Tips to Increase Curb Appeal

Curb appeal is as important as the location to many buyers.  When listing your home, make sure the first impression is a lasting one.  A majority of home buyers look at properties online or drive by before contacting an agent.  As a result, the exterior of the property is always a major selling point.  Here are a few important areas to pay special attention to that you may not have thought of while getting your home ready to sell.

  1. Patios and Decks – de-cluttering doesn't only apply to the interior of your home.  Make sure your outdoor spaces aren't cluttered.  Pressure-wash your deck, patios and even the outdoor furniture.
  2. Lawns and Flowerbeds - accent colors can make a room pop, the same holds true for the exterior of your home.  Spruce up the yard with colorful flowers and planters.  Also make sure nothing is overgrown of blocking the views of your home from the street.
  3. Garage Spaces - Organization in the garage is important.  If your home is clutter free and the garage is stuffed full of unorganized "junk" your home can come across as lacking in storage space.  Invest is trays, bins or shelving for neat storage.

These simple changes can differentiate your property from others on market. For additional tips and tricks to prepare your home to sell contact Ryan Pafford at Ryan@PointsWestAgency.com or call 972-822-3111.
